At 19:15 on January 17, China's "Science" Survey Vessel successfully deployed a HM2000 profile buoy developed by the 710th Research Institute, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (using BeiDou Navigation Satellite System to transmit observation data) in Northwest Pacific Ocean. This is the 400th profile buoy deployed since the implementation of China's Argo Program in 2002, and is also the 30th homemade BeiDou profile buoy deployed by China. These buoys are mainly deployed in the Northwest Pacific Ocean, Middle and Northern Indian Ocean and the South China Sea (namely "two oceans and one sea"), which basically cover the sea area along the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” advocated by China. As a result, China has not only built and maintained a China Argo ocean observation network consisting of more than 100 buoys (the largest number of active buoys on the sea reached 204), and has become an important member of the international Argo program (including about 30 coastal countries). This is also the first global real-time ocean observation network officially built by China, which fills the gap of China in the field.
